Lithuania-based NT Service has been contracted to deliver counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UASs) to the Lithuanian military to meet an urgent requirement to combat ‘drones'.

The contract, valued at EUR8.03 million (USD8.72 million) and spanning 36 months, involves the provision of anti-drone dome systems and individual suppressors, according to a contract notice published on 18 March on the European Union tendering website.

In total, 351 anti-drone dome systems – more widely referred to as omnidirectional C-UASs – and 130 individual suppressors are being acquired from NT Service. The purchase has been deemed a “matter of urgency”, the contract notice detailed.

The Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence (MND) informed Janes that they are procuring the omnidirectional jammer, SkyWiper Omni, and the manportable electronic first-person view (FPV) mitigation system, SkyWiper Solo. The SkyWiper Omni has a weight of 11.3 kg, a 500 m domed range, and operates on the 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz, and global navigation satellite services (GNSS) L1 1.5 GHz frequency ranges. Information about the SkyWiper Solo is not available.

In January the MND told Janes it was planning to procure a range of C-UASs in 2024, comprising transportable and portable C-UAS detectors as well as omnidirectional and portable jammers. The MND said this was not related to the latest contract awarded to NT Service.
